PHILIPPINES NEXT TOP LADY season 1

It has been said that in every great man is a greater woman. Thousands of photos of powerful country leaders are seen with their wives, all dressed-up to the nines, standing beside them. This is not to say that First Ladies are the best Presidential accessory, but seeing a well-dressed woman by their side proves that they are indeed the best secret weapon. Having a smart and pretty woman with a strong sense of style by a presidentiable's side (and leading his household) shows how much of a man he is behind closed doors. Some of you might think that dressing up is superficial and a big waste of country's money but a well-put together First Lady inspires the whole nation, especially it's womenhood. That's why it's no surprise why "the country's First Ladies turned to the best designer of their day to come up with ternos that both impress guests and inspire the masses." This time, however, rcxyblogs+ shuns away from the usual Filipiniana / terno gown and turns to Philippines' top designers to choose which pieces from S/S 2010 collections would they suggest our soon-to-be First Ladies wear on the Presidential Inauguration. Here are the results:

Designer Louis Claparols picks out this Eli Saab gown for Rep. Monica Louise “Nikki” Prieto-Teodoro

Tarlac 1st district Rep. Monica "Nikki" Prieto-Teodoro, wife of Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro, came from the wealthy Roces and Prieto clans, studied at the Webster University in Switzerland, and is the Philippines' first Anne Klein model.

Rep. Cynthia Villar in Carolina Herrera S/S 2010 as picked out by moi.

Las Pinas Rep. Cynthia Aguilar Villar is the brightest among the would-be First Ladies.

Designer John Paras  chooses this knitted Oscar de la Renta from F/W 2010, sans warmers, of course,
for Sen. Loi Estrada

Designer Martin Bautista  chooses this bright yellow dress with patterned topper from Alexander McQueen for Noynoy's sister, Kris Aquino-Yap.

Noynoy Aquino's lack of a spouse has prompted some critics of the LP bet to set their sights on his younger sister, Kris Aquino. Kris has already stated that she will not serve as the official hostess of Malacanang should her brother win in the May 10 polls. Since then, the limelight has shifted to Valenzuela 2nd district councilor Shalani Soledad, Aquino's current love interest. Despite their much-talked about relationship, however, Soledad made it clear that being Aquino's First Lady is still "far from her mind."
